Jon Anderson (born John Roy Anderson, October 25, 1944, in Accrington, England) is the legendary singer, songwriter, and co-founder of the progressive rock band Yes. Known for his distinctive high tenor voice and spiritually inspired lyrics, Anderson was a driving creative force behind many of Yes's classic albums and songs, including Close to the Edge, Roundabout, And You and I, and Awaken. Beyond Yes, he has enjoyed a successful solo career and collaborated extensively with Vangelis as part of Jon & Vangelis. Anderson was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Yes in 2017 and continues to record and tour.
