Autographed Commemorative Lithograph Print: Hand-Signed by Willie McCovey (The Hall of Fame Giants)
This entry showcases an authentic, primary-source piece of Major League Baseball history, San Francisco Giants heritage, and Cooperstown memorabilia: an official 1986 commemorative art print titled The Hall of Fame Giants, hand-signed by legendary Hall of Fame slugger Willie McCovey.
Known affectionately as "Stretch," Willie McCovey (1938–2018) was one of the most feared power hitters in baseball history. Over a distinguished 22-season Major League career spent primarily with the San Francisco Giants, McCovey hit 521 home runs, earned 1959 National League Rookie of the Year honors, won the 1969 NL MVP award, and was selected to six All-Star games. A first-ballot Cooperstown inductee in 1986, McCovey's legendary status is permanently enshrined at Oracle Park, where the waters of McCovey Cove bear his name.
Produced in limited quantity by IBM as an official sponsor of Major League Baseball, this commemorative 1986 poster features a central full-color action image of McCovey completing his iconic left-handed swing. Surrounding the central photo is a grid background displaying Cooperstown plaque illustrations for famous Giants franchise Hall of Famers, including Willie Mays, Christy Mathewson, Mel Ott, and Juan Marichal. The bottom margin reads "In Commemoration of Willie McCovey's Induction, Summer, 1986", while the reverse side bears the official IBM corporate logo.
Positioned across the lower right section directly below his sliding legs, Willie McCovey has rendered a bold, beautiful signature in blue felt-tip marker ("Willie McCovey").
Accompanying the autographed print is an official Basic Certification card and matching serialized tamper-evident database label from James Spence Authentication (JSA) (#AT67372).
Preserved in fine unframed condition with clean white margins, sharp paper stock, bright color contrast, and an unblemished signature, this autographed commemorative print serves as an essential centerpiece for San Francisco Giants archivists, baseball memorabilia collectors, and Cooperstown historians.
