Autographed Vinyl LP Album: Hand-Signed by Waylon Jennings (Greatest Hits)
This entry showcases an authentic, primary-source piece of outlaw country music history, Nashville lore, and classic vinyl record memorabilia: an official RCA Victor stereo vinyl LP pressing of Greatest Hits, hand-signed on the front cover by Country Music Hall of Fame legend Waylon Jennings.
A central architect of the 1970s Outlaw Country movement alongside Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson, Waylon Jennings (1937–2002) rebelled against polished Nashville studio traditions to forge a gritty, rock-infused country sound. Defying record executive constraints, Jennings recorded with his own touring band, driving his distinctive leather-bound Telecaster guitar through massive hits like "Honky Tonk Heroes," "Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way," and "Good Hearted Woman." Certified quintuple-platinum, his 1979 compilation Greatest Hits stands as one of the best-selling country albums of all time.
This original RCA Victor 12" LP release (AHL1-3378) features the iconic embossed leather-look border artwork framing a portrait photo of Jennings in his signature black cowboy hat. The reverse jacket displays a live performance photo alongside the classic 11-track listing.
Across the front cover image, Waylon Jennings has rendered a crisp signature in silver metallic marker ("Waylon Jennings"), signed across his shirt collar and shoulder portrait area, with a secondary faint inscription visible across his hat brim.
Accompanied by an official Basic Certification card from James Spence Authentication (JSA) (#CF61340), with a matching serialized tamper-evident database label affixed directly to the lower corner of the reverse outer jacket.
Preserved in fine vintage condition with rich, deep red jacket tones, light corner rubbing typical of age, clean reverse sleeve panels, an included original 12" vinyl disc, and a sharp silver marker autograph, this signed compilation album serves as an essential centerpiece for outlaw country archivists, roots music collectors, and vintage vinyl historians.
