Autographed NBC Guest Release Form: Hand-Signed by Ron Howard (1992 PSA/DNA Certified Slabbed)
This entry showcases an authentic, primary-source piece of Hollywood history, Oscar-winning director lore, and vintage television production manuscript ephemera: an official NBC guest appearance release form hand-signed by acclaimed director, producer, and actor Ron Howard.
A legendary figure in American entertainment, Ron Howard first achieved fame as a child actor playing Opie Taylor on The Andy Griffith Show and Richie Cunningham on Happy Days. Transitioning behind the camera, Howard became one of Hollywood's most successful film directors, winning Academy Awards for Best Director and Best Picture for A Beautiful Mind alongside directing classics such as Apollo 13, Parenthood, Splash, and Cinderella Man. This official document is an NBC compliance document titled "Statement Pursuant To Section 507 Of The Communications Act Of 1934 – Guest" featuring NBC's iconic peacock logo.
Ron Howard signed this NBC appearance agreement (twice!) for The Today Show on May 14th, 1992 to promote his epic film, “Far and Away”, starring Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman – just one week prior to the film’s release in theaters. At the time, “Far and Away” was considered as the most visually ambitious epic and the critical development phase of his next major cinematic projects. Howard would go on to direct The Paper later that year – followed by his classic “Apollo 13” – which would receive nine Academy Award nominations.
What I love most about signed contracts is that unlike today’s sloppy signatures (often rush-signed outside hotels or airports) that are sometimes barely legible, these vintage signed contracts capture nice, full signatures at the peak of the artist’s career.

Dated May 14, 1992, for an appearance on NBC's flagship morning show Today, the release is hand-signed twice by Ron Howard in bright red ink across both the printed name and signature fields:
"Ron Howard" / "Ron Howard"
Additionally, Howard has filled in the date ("May 14, 92") and show title ("Today") in matching red felt-tip marker.
Encapsulated and permanently preserved in a protective PSA/DNA archival slab, the double signature has been officially authenticated and certified as genuine under Certification Number 85950347.
Preserved in excellent condition, this authenticated production document serves as an essential centerpiece for Ron Howard completists, broadcast television archivists, and slabbed Hollywood autograph displays.
