Autographed Classic Rock Album: Hand-Signed by Pattie Boyd (Layla Inspiration)
This entry showcases a primary-source piece of classic rock folklore: an original 1970 double vinyl LP pressing of Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs by Derek and the Dominos, hand-signed and inscribed on the front cover by legendary model, author, and rock muse Pattie Boyd. Released in November 1970 by Atco Records, this double album stands among the greatest achievements in rock history.
As the celebrated inspiration behind some of the most famous love songs ever written, Pattie Boyd holds a unique place in music history. Married first to George Harrison and later to Eric Clapton, Boyd inspired Harrison to write The Beatles' classic "Something", as well as Clapton to write "Wonderful Tonight" and the entirety of the Layla album.
Recorded at Criteria Studios in Miami by Eric Clapton, Duane Allman, Bobby Whitlock, Carl Radle, and Jim Gordon, Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs captures Clapton's unrequited passion for Boyd. The album features timeless classics including the iconic title track "Layla", "Bell Bottom Blues", "Keep On Growing", "Anyday", and their soaring cover of Jimi Hendrix's "Little Wing".
The front cover displays Frandsen De Schonberg's famous oil painting La Fille au Bouquet, which Clapton purchased after noticing its striking resemblance to Boyd. Positioned cleanly on the central artwork graphic, Pattie Boyd has rendered a bold signature in blue felt-tip marker ("Pattie Boyd"), accompanied by her handwritten inscription, "Layla". Complete with its original Atco Records 2-LP set, the album comes authenticated with an official Basic Certification Card from James Spence Authentication (JSA) (Certification Number: FF66489). Preserved in fine condition with bright cover colors, clean seams, and sharp signature placement, this autographed masterpiece serves as an essential centerpiece for Eric Clapton collectors, Beatles archivists, and rock history enthusiasts.
