Signed Limited First Edition Book: Hand-Signed by Larry McMurtry (The Desert Rose — Factory Sealed Slipcased Edition)
This entry showcases an authentic, primary-source piece of American Western literature history, Pulitzer Prize–winning author lore, and fine limited edition publishing ephemera: an official Simon and Schuster special limited first edition copy of The Desert Rose, hand-signed on a dedicated preliminary limitation page by legendary author and screenwriter Larry McMurtry.
A giant of contemporary American letters, Larry McMurtry (1936–2021) authored acclaimed masterpieces including Lonesome Dove (winner of the 1986 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction), Terms of Endearment, and The Last Picture Show, alongside co-writing the Oscar-winning screenplay for Brokeback Mountain. Published in 1983 by Simon and Schuster (New York), The Desert Rose tells the poignant, humor-filled story of Harmony, an aging Las Vegas showgirl navigating changing times, identity, and her relationship with her daughter.
Bound in full deep plum/maroon cloth with gilded spine lettering reading "Larry McMurtry / THE DESERT ROSE / SIMON AND SCHUSTER", the volume is custom-housed in its matching publisher's plum cloth slipcase.
Issued as a strictly limited presentation printing, each copy was personally autographed by Larry McMurtry on a publisher's preliminary limitation leaf prior to distribution.
Preserved in pristine, brand-new condition, the edition remains completely factory sealed in its original publisher shrinkwrap, guaranteeing untouched protection for the cloth binding, slipcase, and internal author signature.
This sealed slipcased volume serves as an essential centerpiece for Larry McMurtry completists, Western literature archivists, and fine signed limited edition displays.
