Frank Thomas was a designated hitter and first baseman and became one of baseball's biggest stars in the 1990s. Broadcaster Ken Harrelson nicknamed Thomas "The Big Hurt" in the 1992 season. He is a five-time All-Star (1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997), four-time Silver Slugger Award winner (1991, 1993, 1994, 2000), and two-time AL MVP (1993, 1994).
