Under coach John Wooden at UCLA, Walton led the Bruins to two undefeated 30-0 national championship seasons and earned three consecutive National Player of the Year awards. In the NBA, he anchored the Portland Trail Blazers to their historic 1977 NBA Championship as Finals MVP, earned the 1978 NBA Most Valuable Player award, and later won a second championship with the 1986 Boston Celtics. Following his playing career, Walton became one of sports broadcasting's most beloved and colorful color commentators.
