Signed Deluxe Limited Edition Book Set: Hand-Signed by Friz Freleng (Animation: The Art of Friz Freleng)
This entry showcases an authentic, primary-source piece of classic animation history, Warner Bros. studio heritage, and Golden Age pop culture iconography: an original 1994 deluxe signed limited edition box set of Animation: The Art of Friz Freleng (Volume One), hand-signed and hand-numbered by legendary Oscar-winning animator and director Friz Freleng.
Isadore "Friz" Freleng (1906–1995) stands among the most influential figures in animation history. As a primary architect of Warner Bros.' Termite Terrace studio, Freleng directed more Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies shorts than any other director, winning four Academy Awards and co-creating immortal characters including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Tweety Bird, Sylvester the Cat, Yosemite Sam, Speedy Gonzales, and the Pink Panther.
Published by Donovan Publishing in 1994, this deluxe two-volume commemorative retrospective set is housed in a white-and-burgundy presentation slipcase. The primary volume features quarter-bound burgundy leather with a white cover depicting a kickoff ensemble of Looney Tunes characters in top hats and tails beneath gold-foil title lettering. Inside, an embedded 3D hologram page depicting Bugs Bunny, Sylvester, Tweety, and Speedy Gonzales is hand-signed by Friz Freleng in blue felt-tip pen ("Friz Freleng") alongside its hand-numbered designation (24/4000).
The accompanying companion volume binder houses a custom cassette tape titled "Words and Music", a VHS cassette titled "Freleng: Frame by Frame", and an official Certificate of Authenticity confirming the total limited edition run. A publisher sticker on the slipcase spine reinforces its matching edition status (24 / 4000).
Preserved in fine, unused condition with crisp leather spines, clean paper stock, pristine multimedia components, and a bright slipcase, this autographed deluxe set serves as an essential centerpiece for animation archivists, Warner Bros. collectors, and classic pop culture historians.
