Autographed First Edition Book: Hand-Signed by Oliver North (American Heroes 2008)
This entry showcases an authentic, primary-source piece of American military history, political publishing lore, and broadcast journalism ephemera: an official first edition hardcover copy of American Heroes: In the Fight Against Radical Islam, hand-signed on the preliminary dedication page by decorated combat veteran, author, and television host Oliver North.
A retired United States Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel, Oliver North served with distinction during the Vietnam War, receiving the Silver Star, Bronze Star Medal, and two Purple Hearts. Gaining national prominence during his assignment to the National Security Council staff in the 1980s, North later established a successful media career as a political commentator, host of the long-running FOX News series War Stories with Oliver North, and bestselling author. Edited by Chuck Holton and based on his award-winning television reporting, American Heroes (2008) profiles frontline American service members deployed across Iraq and Afghanistan, delivering firsthand accounts of combat bravery and military sacrifice.
Published in 2008 by B&H Publishing Group, this official hardcover volume comes complete with its original printed dust jacket featuring military camouflage design graphics and FOX News branding.
On page 8, directly beneath the printed dedication ("For Betsy / With thanks for your patience and prayers while I keep company with heroes"), Oliver North has rendered a sweeping autograph in vibrant blue marker:
"Ollie North"
The signature exhibits strong ink flow and sharp stroke clarity across the clean white page stock.
Preserved in fine condition with a tight spine, clean text block, and unblemished dust jacket, this signed hardcover volume serves as an essential centerpiece for military history archivists, political biography collectors, and Oliver North displays.
