About The Author

Meryl Davis and Charlie White became the first Americans to take home the gold in Ice Dancing at the 2014 Olympics. Meryl is the recipient of the Sportswomen of the Year Award from the Women’s Sports Foundation. She a big supporter of Scholastic's "Read Every Day," Classroom Champions and recently wrote a children’s book titled, “MoonWalk.”

 

Scott Hamilton is a New York Times bestselling author, an Olympic champion, cancer survivor, broadcaster, motivational speaker, husband, father, and eternal optimist. The Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation www.scottcares.org is dedicated to funding world-class research and quality care to improve cancer survivorship. Scott lives in Frankin, Tennessee, with his beautiful wife, Tracie, and their four amazing children. 

 

Karina Manta was born in Olympia, Washington, and became an elite figure skater, eventually competing for Team USA. She currently works as a performer for Cirque Du Soleil. She was the first Team USA female figure skater to come out as bisexual and enjoys eating ice cream and engaging with creative approaches to activism.

 

Adam Rippon is an Olympic athlete and U.S. figure skating champion. At the 2018 Olympic Winter Games, Adam won a bronze medal as part of the figure skating team event, thus becoming the first openly gay U.S. male athlete to win a medal in a Winter Olympics. Later that year, he was named to the TIME 100 List of Most Influential People and won season 26 of Dancing with the Stars.

 

Maia and Alex Shibutani (a.k.a. the "ShibSibs") are Olympic bronze medalists, three-time World medalists, Four Continents champions and two-time U.S. champions. At the 2018 Winter Olympics, they became the first ice dancers of Asian descent to medal at the Olympics and are only the second sibling duo in the history of the sport to share an ice dance medal.

 

Kristi Yamaguchi is an Olympic champion, World champion and U.S. gold medalist. Following her successful career in figure skating, Kristi won top honors with partner Mark Ballas on the popular TV show "Dancing With The Stars".
