If you want a truly unique book, this is it. Do you wish to read history without being buried in the details, just want the story? You should read "The Crossing" by Jack Levin. You will ask "where were the books like this when I grew up?" Well there weren't any. There were great authors, but they would tell you everything. I love it when an author sets out to tell a story in such an honest way. Because today it is important to do so. And Mr. Levin has succeeded.

Perfect vehicle for young adults who have previously not "liked" history. Beautifully illustrated and written, adds a human element to a crucial event in our history.

I love this little book. I have shared it with my parents as well as my little six year old. She loves the pictures and I can't wait until she is old enough to fully understand the history behind the pictures. This book is quite a treasure!

The book was wonderfully illustrated and delightfully written to retell an important chapter of our nation's history when the night appeared darkest. Beautifully timed when people today are seeking a new dawn.

I know the book was not very long but it was about our history. And about overcoming great odds. Sort of what we are facing right now. Although we are not riding in on a horse we do need to come together and fight those that want to suppress us.
